Ronda is famous worldwide for its dramatic escarpments and
views, and for the deep El Tajo gorge that carries the rio Guadalevín
through its centre. Puente Nuevo 'new' bridge splits Ronda into two
halves; the old city and the new city. The views from the New Bridge
and sides of the gorge are breathtaking and a great opportunity for
photographers.

We didn't have a chance to take pictures during the morning or evening
low sun but it would be definetely worth walking down into the gorge
early in the morning to get the perfect shot. |

Ronda stone built bullring is one of the oldest in Spain and its
where the art of bullfighting on foot originates, introduced by the
famous bullfighter Francisco Romero.
|
| The bullring is open to visitors but bullfight is only hold there once
a year. It is situated just off the new bridge in the new part of town. |
|
| Rondas position provides great landscape views all around the area. At
height of 770 metres, the town commands the surrounding plateau. |
|
| The Palace of Modragon's gardens provide access to some great views of
the new bridge and the gorge for those that don't want to hike down to
the gorge itself. |
|
 |
When the Christians conquered the town they christianised the Muslim
mosque and later converted it into the town's main church, Santa Maria
la Mayor.
The town, including the new part, is really lovely and full of grand buildings and spectacular architecture.
|
| If you get a chance to come to Ronda make sure you don't miss it. Its a great place for a day trip and your camera will be busy. |
